自己紹介: 私はアメリカ東海岸にあるエール大学大学院で社会人類学と映像人類学を教えています。博士号研究は現代日本のろうあ者（聴覚障害者）、手話、アイデンティティ、と少数民族的社会運動をテーマにしました。その研究をベースにして、第二次プロジェクトは日米の精神障害者問題、第三プロジェクトは障害とジェンダーとセクシュアリティの交差点です。

私の父母は日本人ですが、両親の仕事（実はかれらも人類学者です）の都合で私自身はインドネシアで生まれ、オーストラリア、日本とアメリカで育ちました。自分のアイデンティティがどこにあるのかはっきりできないため、こうやって、アイデンティティ研究をしてるのだと思います。

現在のプロジェクト：障害とジェンダーとセクシュアリティの交差点。

主要講議:　障害学、フェミニスト人類学、現代人類学理論、ろうあ者の世界、日本の少数民族、映像人類、教育学。
