自己紹介: 私はアメリカ東海岸にあるエール大学大学院で 社会人類学と映像人類学を教えています。 博士号研究は現代日本のろうあ者（聴覚障害者）、手話、アイデンティティ、と少数民族的 社会運動をテーマにしました。 その研究を続けながら、現在進行中の第二次プロジェクトは 日米の重度障害者運動、精神障害者問題、市民社会と少数者運動の拡大化です。私の父母は日本人ですが、両親の仕事（実はかれらも人類学者です）の都合で私自身はインドネシアで生まれ、オーストラリア、日本と アメリカで育ちました。自分のアイデンティティがどこにあるのかはっきりできないため、 こうやって、アイデンティティ研究をしてるのだと思います。

現在のプロジェクト：国際交流基金から安倍奨学金の支援によって，日米の重度障害者と精神霜害者の社会運動。

主要講議:　 フェミニスト人類学、 現代人類学理論、 日本の現代アニメ／漫画学、 ろうあ者の世界、 日本の少数民族、 言語人類学、 写真映像人類学（フォトエスノグラフィー）。
